TW Services has seen business grow from strength to strength since it’s establishment in 1995. With a long history in the wasteand recycling industry, through our innovative recycling and processing methods and strong investment in high-tech onsite facilities, TW Services can boldly claim Zero to Landfill.
Being capable of processing 750,000 tonnes of waste per annum on our 20 acre site, which will soon see the installation of a new soil washing plant to complement our services. Once operational it will offer a bespoke operation to process an additional 250,000 tonnes of inert material per annum into recovered aggregate products.
The Challenge
Smye-Rumsby has been serving TW services for more than a decade. Over the years their radio communication system has been streamlined, developed and upgraded. When we first met with TW Services they had been using a country-wide radio network which was failing to meet their needs. An alternative was required to enable fleet operations to work efficiently.
The Radios

For the site staff -Motorola DP3400 DP 3400 digital portable two-way radio combines two-way radio functionality with advanced digital technology. It permits easy migration with operation in both analogue and digital, and is available in UHF and VHF versions, both with 32 channels.
The Solution
After intensive consultation with TW Services, the Smye-Rumsby team were able to provide a solution. Smye-rumsby has now installed a network of radio repeaters to give blanket coverage in the South East. The new digital radio system not only provides TW Services with clear communications throughout their fleet but also provides GPS tracking for all their vehicles, encompassing both voice and data communication.
